1. Who we are RolePlugin is based in the Netherlands. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@roleplugin.com.

2. Information we collect We collect the email address you use to create an account and sign in. When you subscribe to a plan that includes private GitHub marketplace access, we also collect your GitHub username, which we use to invite you to our private marketplace organization. We do not collect any information beyond what is needed to run your account, deliver your subscription, and process your purchase.

3. How you sign in We use email magic links instead of passwords. When you request a sign-in link, we email you a one-time link; clicking it signs you in and issues a signed session cookie in your browser. We never store a password for your account, because there isn’t one.

4. Billing and purchases Purchases, billing, invoicing, and tax are handled by Polar.sh, acting as merchant of record for RolePlugin. Polar processes your payment details directly; we do not store your card information. Polar’s own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.

5. Repository access If your plan includes private GitHub marketplace access, we share your GitHub username with GitHub to add you to our private marketplace organization as a benefit tied to your active subscription. We use your GitHub username only for this purpose.

6. Email We send transactional email, including magic links, purchase receipts, and account notices, through Resend. We do not send marketing email unless you separately opt in, and we do not use ad tracking or advertising cookies anywhere on our site.

7. Cookies The only cookie we set is the signed session cookie used to keep you signed in after you use a magic link. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Disabling this cookie will sign you out and require you to request a new magic link.

8. Who we share data with We share data only with the service providers needed to run RolePlugin: Polar.sh for billing and payment processing, Resend for transactional email, and GitHub for repository access. Each provider is contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purpose we’ve described.

9. Data retention We keep your account and billing data for as long as your account is active, plus any additional period required to meet our legal and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, as described below.

10. Your rights Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict how we process your personal data, to receive a copy of your data in a portable format, and to object to or withdraw consent for processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@roleplugin.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Changes to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our website or services after a change means you accept the revised policy.
